Spring Clean Up: Trash Removal at Long Creek

Spring trash removal has already begun for the 2024 year. The Long Creek Watershed Management District team, with Maritime Farms, has cleared an astounding 6,600 lbs of trash from throughout the watershed and disposed of it at EcoMaine. That’s enough trash to fill the equivalent of a 28 yard rolling dumpster.

A multimillion dollar stream restoration project is currently underway in the area, and we are excited to see the area’s pollution control and mitigation efforts improving as we enter busier Spring and Summer seasons.
